Theology

Overview

The Mercy Tech Theology Department provides students with a greater understanding of the Catholic faith, being ever attentive to the rich cultural diversity of our students, while immersing them in the Charism of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.  We encourage fuller development of our students’ own spirituality, personal relationship with God, and responsibility to Social Justice.

Our four year program includes understanding the Catholic Faith in the Mercy Tradition, how God and Jesus are  revealed through Sacred Scriptures and every day life, Morality and Catholic Social Teaching, as well as World Religions and Catholic Vocations.

Our School minister will design and facilitate various prayer services, retreats, and other forms of spiritual expression, in addition to the Catholic Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Being a Catholic School, students are required to be in attendance for these events.

The call to serve others is reflected in Mercy Career & Technical’s requirement to engage in Community Service.
Ninth & tenth grade students
Required to complete 10 hours of Community Service.
Eleventh & twelfth grade students
Required to complete 15 hours of Community Service.
