Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Securities:
Gifts of appreciated stock held for more than one year offer special tax benefits by providing a tax deduction for their fair market value while eliminating capital gains assessments on their future sale. Mercy Career & Technical High School has a brokerage account at Vanguard - account #63647194 - that can accept your gift. Vanguard’s DTC number is 0062. Ask your employer if your company will match your gift to Mercy Career & Technical High School.
EITC/OSTC Scholarships:
Businesses and qualified individuals can receive up to a 90% credit on PA state taxes by contributing to Mercy Career & Technical High School through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and/or the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs.

Instead of paying your personal income taxes to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, you could redirect that money to scholarships for low-income students. If your personal state tax liability is at least $1,000 annually, you qualify to participate. In return for supporting scholarships for motivated, hardworking, and deserving Mercy Tech students, you can receive a state tax credit of 90%.
