Gifts in Kind
A gift-in-kind is a donation in any form other than cash or check and normally requires valuation for tax receipt purposes. Some examples of gifts-in-kind to Mercy Career and Technical High School in recent years include computer equipment, classroom and office furniture, tools, baking supplies and graphic design services.
Corporate Matching Gifts
A matching gift occurs when participating companies match (sometimes up to double or triple) the amount donated to Mercy Career & Technical High School by employees, spouses, or retirees. Check with your company’s Matching Gift Coordinator, (usually in the Human Resources Department), obtain a matching gift form, fill it out and return with your contribution.

Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools, BLOCS, is an independent charitable organization supported by companies, firms and foundations of all sizes in the five county Philadelphia region. Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)
A gift to Mercy Career & Technical High School can provide your company with a substantial PA tax credit. Deadline for application is July 1st. By making a contribution, your company can save on your PA taxes up to 90 percent of the value of your gift. Please take a few moments to review this opportunity with your company's tax advisor. Your support of Mercy Career & Technical High School through EITC will help us offer a values-based education to those students whose educational and career goals are best served by a quality, comprehensive career and technical education/academic secondary school program.

Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program (OSTC)
This new funding of $50 MM will provide opportunity scholarships of up to $8500 per student for those who live in the lowest 15% of performing school districts in the state and $15,000 for special education students in the same situation. The application for these credits will be available only online and you must apply separately for these credits. If you were denied EITC credits this year, you can apply for the OSTC credits but you must file again using the new online application. Also, if you did not receive the maximum amount of EITC credits which is now $400,000 per entity, you can apply for additional credits through the OSTC program. You can apply for a total of $400,000 in credits for both programs.
