2020 Live Graduation Ceremony Instructions
We are excited to host this year's Graduation Ceremony online, and want to make the process as easy as possible for family and friends:
- Make sure you follow Mercy’s FB page for live updates and to find the actual live ceremony.
- The Facebook live link will also be posted on the Mercy Tech homepage: www.mercycte.org - you can also go here if you DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT. https://www.facebook.com/
watch/mercycte/ - You will be able to post comments on Facebook if you have a Facebook account and follow Mercy tech’s FB page. You do not need a FB account to watch the ceremony.
That being said, here are 2 ways to view the ceremony:
Method 1: Watch from a device: EASY
- Watch from ANOTHER device (not the graduate’s Chromebook or phone), like another laptop, a tablet or a phone. The graduate will need his/her device to be in a Google meet.
- Just go to the Facebook live link.
Method 2: Stream to your TV using ONE of the following methods: HARDER
- Casting your phone using AIRPLAY or Google Chromecast
- Will need a device that can handle casting, like an Apple TV or a Chromecast device
- Connecting your Laptop to the TV via HDMI cable
- Once connected, the TV becomes the screen, or a secondary screen and you can bring up the video via Facebook and maximize the window

Senior Appointment Schedule
(We are limiting the number of students in the building at one time to follow CDC COVID-19 guidelines and to ensure the safety of students and faculty.)
Your son or daughter is invited to wear his or her cap and gown and have a picture taken with the administration who will be in academic attire. Safe social distancing will be practiced. You may also take home your graduate portrait, diploma, awards that you have not yet received, and personal items from lockers.
Student belongings from lockers will be in bags that will be available for you to collect when you come to school. We ask that if your son or daughter has school-issued items including athletic uniforms and textbooks, they bring those items when they come to school.
We request that you adhere to the schedule below if possible. Please forgive me if the scheduled date or time is inconvenient. If the scheduled day does not work, please contact me so we can do our very best to work with you.
When you arrive on Saturday or Sunday, you may drive into the school parking lot on Allegheny Avenue. A member of the faculty will direct you where to park when you arrive.

- Ed Mullin: Well, you did it. After four years of hard work, you are graduating with a skill. With that skill you will be able to gain employment and provide for yourselves and your family. Remember that much has been given to you by Mercy CTE, and that as you succeed in your calling, you should give back to the community in remembrance of the gifts you have been given.
- James A Egan: Dear Class of 2020 congratulations. Your graduation is a major accomplishment, yet just the beginning of what I hope for you is a full and happy life. Take the knowledge you’ve gained over the past 4 years, and share with others. You are on the beginning of the wonderful journey of life. Follow God, and your gut and enjoy the ride.
-
Colleen Lange: Congratulations to all the 2020 Mercy CTE graduates. You certainly earned your place in history. May your “Vision 2020” carry you far in the next phase of your journey. God Bless.
- Suzanne Gallagher: Congratulations Graduates! This time is like no other - and you are like no other graduates! Take Mercy out into the world - we love you!
- Chip Behr: To the 2020 graduates of Mercy CTE , CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! You should be very proud of yourselves. I know that I am, as is each member of the board of trustees. Your hard work has paid off. I wish each and every one of you success, happiness, good fortune, good health, and contentment. May God bless you, always, and help to continue to steer you in the right direction. With great respect, admiration, and hope for you,

Dexter L. Hendricks: Congratulations to the Mercy Career & Technical High School Graduating Class of 2020! We are indeed faced with some unprecedented issues, but we will not let what the world is facing today affect your ability to celebrate your successes and put a bow on this episode of your life. Know that your graduation will be like no other. During this time, you are all encouraged to take the time to reflect on all of your accomplishments and appreciate those in your family and home circle who have provided mental and material support. This chapter of high school may be over for you, but the learning continues. Always remember to trust in the Lord and have him guide you along your path – whatever that path may be. With God, all things are possible. I anticipate sharing in this accomplishment again with you at a time when it will be safe for us to do so in person. Be well and continue to pray and stay safe…
-
Sister Ann: Congratulations on you accomplishments over these past four years. Although this graduations is not what you pictured as you worked toward completion of your high school education your accomplishments hold deeper rewards because you experienced struggles not faced by any other class and you succeeded! May this gift of facing and overcoming new challenges and ways of reaching your goals be gifts that help you reach you goals throughout life
-
James J. Clearkin IV: Congratulations to the Class of 2020! Accomplishing such a feat, during such challenging times, is something to celebrate. May the values, drive, and work ethic instilled during your time at Mercy push you successfully forward. Master your skill.
- Dan Walsh: As a Board member of Mercy Career and Technical High School, and also having the chance to have worked with some of you, we are so proud of your efforts and accomplishment! The year 2020 was not an easy one for you but I will suggest to you that perhaps this is just a little sliver of life. As the Class of 2020, you might have thought that coming into this year as seniors, “clear vision” would be a theme but I suggest to you that life won’t always be as clear as 2020 has been unclear for you. You will face many twists and turns and it will be what you do with you time and energy that will matter most and mark you “Mercy”. In spite of this year’s challenges, you graduated! It is time to enjoy this with your family and savor your accomplishment. Use this year as future motivation when things don’t look so clear, remember what you learned at Mercy Tech, how your teachers and administrators guided you through these unsettling times. I am sorry that you did not get the chance to enjoy all those senior activities that many of us remember but you are coming out of this with something unique that most of us will never say… you will be forever be associated with all graduating students across our great country and the world as The Class of 2020! You are Mercy Tech graduates! You survived! You are Mercy Proud! Good luck and God speed beyond 2020!
