About Howie

Mr. Howie Brown, unanimously confirmed by the Mercy Tech Board of Trustees and Mercy Education, became Mercy Tech’s second President in May 2024 after serving as Director of Admission for nine years at St. Joseph’s Prep.

His diverse background includes work as an actor, theater manager, and an elementary math/science teacher.

He earned his MS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at St. Joseph’s University and his BA at Syracuse University with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.

About Sister Susan

Sister Susan Walsh, RSM has served the Mercy Tech community for 28 years as a teacher, vice principal, principal, advisor, and most recently, as Acting President.

Sister’s long tenure, combined with her wisdom and experience, made her the perfect person to lead Mercy Tech between the unexpected passing of Sister Rosemary Herron and Mr. Howie Brown’s appointment as President. Sister Susan earned her Principal Leadership Certification (Secondary Education) at St. Joseph's University.

She earned her MA in the Teaching of Mathematics from Villanova University and her BA in Mathematics at Gwynedd Mercy College.
